Overcoming status quo bias
Bri Williams
The one reason people donโt proceed? Status Quo Bias.
People are great at identifying the risks of proceeding, but not as good at identifying the risks of NOT proceeding.
That means we have to get better at dislodging their status quo, and we can do that with comparisons.
In this clip - a sample from my Just Do This small business program - Iโll talk you through three scenarios by analysing real examples, including:
-
Switching how they solve the problem (i.e. from a competitor)
-
Changing the way they solve it (i.e. a fresh alternative)
-
Doing something about a problem they didnโt know they had
